Athena Coin Necklaces
Exceptional Greek Athena coin necklaces available in two styles.
1. Athena wearing a winged crested helmet with a walking lion on the reverse. Dates from 305-290 BC from Ancient Greece, city of Velia in Lucania, which is near Southern Italy. A temple dedicated to Athena still stands in Paestum, Italy and was built during the same era as the coin was minted. This coin has an 18k gold disc with a white sapphire and 18k gold bail. 2. Athena in a Corinthian helmet with a pegasus on the reverse. Dates from 317-310 BC and was minted in the Corinthian colony of Lokoi in Bruttium, Southern Italy. The region is now known as Calabria. This coin has a 3.5mm white sapphire set in gold and an 18k gold bail. Pictured on the right.
