Maltese Cross Coin Earrings - Protection & Honor

The Maltese Cross is a symbol of protection and honor. Minted in the 17th century, the Cross has four "V" shaped elements that meet in the center. The eight points symbolize the eight beatitudes and the eight virtues that members of the Order of Malta must possess. Jewelry is a replica cast from an original from my personal collection of ancient coins.
