Pegasus - Bravery, Protection & Artistic Inspiration
In ancient Greece, the Pegasus, the hoofed master of the ground and winged master of the air, was associated with bravery, success in battle, protection, duty, commitment and immortality. It also represents strength and artistic inspiration. The coin depicts a flying Pegasus on one side and Athena in a Corinthian helmet on the other. Minted between 317 - 310BC in the Corinthian colony of Lokroi in Bruttium, Southern Italy. The region is now known as Calabria. Jewelry is a replica cast from an original from my personal collection of ancient coins.
A sterling silver replica of an Ancient Greek Pegasus coin adorned with a blue diamond (2.5mm) set in 14k gold, a gold bail and gold balls.
20" sterling silver, long and short chain.
